Grandate (Italy) / Bayreuth (Germany), 18.05.2022 – RECARO Kids performed once again with good results in the current and most important European child car seat test conducted by Stiftung Warentest and ADAC. Nominated was the Modular System by RECARO Kids. In the course of this, the infant carrier Avan was tested when being installed with the vehicle seat belt and, like the reboarder Kio, also in combination with the Avan/Kio ISOFIX Base. All three combinations were rated "good" for the safe journey of little passengers - from birth to four years.
Among other things, Stiftung Warentest/ ADAC was convinced by the accident safety and ergonomics, which led to the following overall results in the test: Avan belted with a vehicle belt (2.4) and Avan in combination with Base (1.8) were rated "good". Kio in combination with the Avan/Kio Base (2.3) also impressed with a good result.
Our goal is to exceed standards. The outstanding safety level of our modular system is of course no exception. Thanks to the highest internal standards, which are clearly more demanding than the legal requirements, we were also able to score "very good" in the "pollutants" category for all three tested variants. That‘s why we are particularly proud of our good test result at StiWa/ ADAC.
Modular System: Avan + Kio + Avan/Kio Base
Our Avan infant carrier can be used rear-facing from birth up to a height of 83 cm (approx. 15 months) with or without the Avan/Kio Base. Parents are extremely flexible because with the appropriate adapters, Avan can also be comfortably placed on a stroller frame - for excursions with the whole family. While the Kio reboarder with the Avan/Kio Base impresses with its long usage period. It can be used for children from a height of 60 cm (approx. 3 months) up to 105 cm (approx. 4 years). With an additional newborn inlay, it can even be used from birth.
(We recommend using reboarder in the rear-facing position for as long as the child remains in this position - if possible up to a height of 105 cm or until the child is about 4 years old.)
